Public Comments at the DeKalb County School Board Meeting, 6 p.m.

Tonight's comments shall feature several members and fans of GTCO-ATL. We will post copies of speeches and the supporting documentation on our website immediately after the meeting. We will also be broadcast live on Comcast Cable. Check your local listing for details.

Each speaker is given only 3 minutes. Darn, just when that unlimited talking plan would have actually been helpful!

Summary from July 11, 2011 Cell Tower Vote by the DeKalb County School Board
01.31 Mr. Steven Donahue, Executive Director, Plant Services, requested that the Board of Education approve the contract proposal submitted by T-Mobile for the placement Wireless Towers at the following locations: Briarlake Elementary School, Flat Rock Elementary School, Brockett Elementary School, Jolly Elementary School, Lakeside High School, Margaret Harris Center, Martin Luther King, Jr. High School, Meadowview Elementary School, Medlock Elementary School, Narvie J. Harris Elementary School, Princeton Elementary School and Smoke Rise Elementary School. After a discussion to amend the motion, Mr. McChesney offered an amended motion to remove Brockett, Meadowview and Medlock Elementary Schools. The amended motion was seconded by Dr. Speaks, and with a 6\2 vote, with Ms. Copelin-Wood, Dr. Speaks, Mr. Cunningham, Mr. Womack, Mr. Bowen, Dr. Walker and Mr. McChesney voting yes; and Ms. Edler and Ms. Jester voting no, the amended motion passed.
